You awaken to blackness. Frightening, although familiar--this is the same terrible thing you narrowly avoided during your first trip into Lebensbaum. The pain of your death is still real, echoes of the wounds you suffered appearing on your skin. Inspecting your surroundings will tell you that you've woken up inside of the cooled, empty bonfire pit....and the town as it was is nowhere to be seen.

The sky is a whirlwind of blank, dark void. What previously acted as roadblocks on either side of the town seems to have moved upward, blocking out most of the sun's light. The street is barren, filled with piles of broken concrete, shattered glass, and smoking craters where many of the buildings used to be. Old bloodstains dot the pavement, mixing in with overturned cars and crumbling brick walls. Lebensbaum is a dead town, in more ways than one.

Except for the hotel. It stands, as dusty and abandoned as it ever was, but no worse for the wear. Scorch marks can be seen on the ground around it in a clear border, as though it had a barrier protecting it from whatever destroyed the village. If you venture inside, everything is in its place, as though the outside wasn't completely obliterated.

The living can be seen walking around, going about their daily lives, and if you concentrate, you can even see the buildings as they once were--in working order, clean, and in one piece.

As of Monday on Week 10, however, there is a door, seemingly pasted into the middle of the street. As the days tick by, the doors will increase in number, one for each victim.

[ She can, though it'll take a bit more effort than the snake door. When opened, it's clear why--this is more of a vault than a tunnel. The back is thick and made of extremely extensive mental paneling. The metal "hallway" only goes on for about 10 feet before there's another vault door blocking their path. Better work together for this one, ladies. ]

[ WELL, THIS DOESN'T LOOK CREEPY AT ALL. All the same... it's not like she'll accomplish anything standing here, so she'll look at Marisa and sigh. ]

Either way... I suppose we'll find out soon enough.

[Bill's poking his head in and looking around. He hasn't been here long to realize just how weird the random doors are, but random doors usually require investigation either way.

[A nod. This just reminds her of how the SDM used to feel before she got used to the crew there. But going to join Alisha at the door and get to work.]

Yeap. If we don't return, we know it's bad then?

[Joking about it a bit because it's..kinda funny...? As soon as she notices Bill, she grins. Take your time on the nickname.]

It is. This is just gettin' weirder and weirder now...

If this leads to our eventual oblivion I'm here to help.

So how do we open it.

[ BY THEIR COMBINED EFFORT, IT OPENS

TO ANOTHER HALLWAY WITH ANOTHER VAULT DOOR

Wherever these doors leads to is getting closer, however, because it's suddenly very hot in this vault hallway, about 80 degrees Fahrenheit. ]

[ ... Wow, ghosts feeling temperature change, what is this-- ]

Another one. I wonder just how many we'll have to get through.

[ ONWARDS, MY FELLOW LADY AND QUESTIONABLE SIRS?? ]

[ONWARDS. He'll help out with however many doors come their way! Though he will pull off his jacket first and tie that around his waist because heat.]

I'm not the only one noticing this heat right?

You're dead, aren't you? A little late to whip out the complaints. Just keep walking.

[He will happily push everyone down the hallway if not stopped. Really hoping for oblivion here he's got his priorities straight okay.]

It's not bad..but still gettin' warm. Cooler then Old Hell ta be honest?

[At this point? Anything is better then the unsure semblance of unlife they are in. WHAT IS DOWN HERE?]

[ Success! This was the last door to be opened. Stepping in, they'll find themselves emerging in an equally-hot cave of sorts.

It's a dark, barren landscape actually floating in a lake of lava, of all things. Are they inside of a volcano? Maybe, because the ceiling is filled with smoke, and the ground shakes and tremors. ]

[ ... This is not really helping her faint chest pains feel any better, and she's curling her fingers over it uneasily with a cough. ]

Is this... a volcano? Someone's domain?

[ IF ONLY IT WAS A SERAPH'S... ]

[He was gonna say something about not complaining and about how being dead doesn't take his right to complain away but the amount of cool they are currently being faced with has completely pushed that comment off the table.]

It looks like it, yeah! I wonder if the lava would burn a ghost...

There's one way to find out. You volunteering?

[He's just saying. All the saying. But looking around! Anything of note?]

It might just bring eternal torment ta whoever touches it.

[That is Marisa's warning. Do not make her smack people because not that strong. But going to look around herself because Hey, does this place look familiar or worse then what she's hoping.]

Besides, we need everyone together if we want ta get this ta work.

[ There are indeed some things of note! The first is a set of stairs off to the side, leading down straight into the lava sea. Evidently someone deems it safe enough to go down there.

The second is a blackened metal platform in the center of the room with a shiny, black, scaled something sleeping upon it. ]

[ Alisha instantly throws out both arms to either side of her, in the chance that Bill or Zelos or both will go skipping forward to go poke that scaled something. What is that... a snake? A dragon? ]

I don't think we should disturb that.

[ HUSHED. ]

[Wow Alisha, it's like you don't even trust them! He was going to happily accept testing the lava out but the princess' reaction stops him and he just peers over her shoulder instead.]

Are you sure? It could be friendly!

[He at least has the decency to speak a little quieter than normal to avoid waking whatever that is.]

[ It's a fucking dragon. Not unlike your friendly neighborhood world eater in physical appearance.

But as of now, it's still sleeping. Careful. ]

[It's like having infinite lives! Or not. But. Ducking under Alisha's arm to approach closer.]

[And that's walking up and-- kissing this dragon like it's sleeping beauty. You know unless someone stops him or something. Making out with things has worked really well for him so far okay WHY BUCK THE TREND????]

[Part of Marisa wants to stop him...but she decides to see what happens. Because WHY NOT. KISS WHAT HUMANS IN THE VILLAGE SHE GREW UP IN CONSIDER A GOD.]

Zelos--?!

[ OH MY GOD no, of course she's going to run after him and try to drag him back??

Although that actually shocked her for a good ten seconds, so he may have already planted one on Sleeping Beauty.

[Hey if Zelos gets to kiss the dragon, Bill wants to too! Or at least to get closer. And with Alisha going after the man, the dorito will just...follow her! That's totally allowed, right? He's still technically behind her.

It's a dragon!!! He wants to pet it!!!]

[ This can go one of two ways. YOUR CHOICE, FRIEND.

They can pull Zelos out of the way and the dragon continues to sleep.

Or Zelos can smooch the dragon, causing it to wake up and promptly incinerate him with fire breath. He will be granted sweet, sweet oblivion for about 5 hours before his ghost reforms in the fire pit. ]
