(no subject)

You awaken to blackness. Frightening, although familiar--this is the same terrible thing you narrowly avoided during your first trip into Lebensbaum. The pain of your death is still real, echoes of the wounds you suffered appearing on your skin. Inspecting your surroundings will tell you that you've woken up inside of the cooled, empty bonfire pit....and the town as it was is nowhere to be seen.

The sky is a whirlwind of blank, dark void. What previously acted as roadblocks on either side of the town seems to have moved upward, blocking out most of the sun's light. The street is barren, filled with piles of broken concrete, shattered glass, and smoking craters where many of the buildings used to be. Old bloodstains dot the pavement, mixing in with overturned cars and crumbling brick walls. Lebensbaum is a dead town, in more ways than one.

Except for the hotel. It stands, as dusty and abandoned as it ever was, but no worse for the wear. Scorch marks can be seen on the ground around it in a clear border, as though it had a barrier protecting it from whatever destroyed the village. If you venture inside, everything is in its place, as though the outside wasn't completely obliterated.

The living can be seen walking around, going about their daily lives, and if you concentrate, you can even see the buildings as they once were--in working order, clean, and in one piece.

As of Monday on Week 10, however, there is a door, seemingly pasted into the middle of the street. As the days tick by, the doors will increase in number, one for each victim.

Who died and made you king of everything?! [Oh right...she rolls her eyes but huffs out a grudging sigh of acceptance.]

Fine, fine. We'll be good kids and ask you nicely first, mom. Now can we please go blow up one of the demon homes?

[which unbeknownst to any of them right now will wind up blowing up the town anyway HA HA....]

[ Undyne definitely gets a Look at that comment, but since she actually accepts, he doesn't say anything about it. He sighs, but shrugs in a way that's close enough to acceptance for them. ]

Yes, that's fine. I'll even be generous and let you pick which one to terrorize first~.

[ Well, probably. He's going to overrule the decision if it's too close to anything, but. ]

[DON'T BE A WET BLANKET, BREAK!!!!

But since he hasn't gone traipsing around in the doors as much as Undyne, he'll just let her figure that one out too, looking over toward her for guidance.]

Have we even found their doors yet?
detanimetion: (considering)

[personal profile] detanimetion 2016-04-27 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
[She shrugs.]

All seven doors have appeared, right? So they have to be behind one of them. I dunno whose is whose, but when Sans was killed by Sloth, he was teleported into Sloth's realm. Did the same thing happen to you, Break?
crazily: (do we vote for ambassadors?)

[ He nods ]

I assume so, but I couldn't tell you much about it, for obvious reasons. It was a large space, but that's roughly all I know. If you'd like to know more, then we'll have to ask Rhys.

[ Which seems like that's all he has to say, but after a moment's consideration, he adds: ] The floor was made of something unusual, though. It sounded a bit odd.

So that's how they've been killing everyone this week...?

[He's mildly alarmed by it, actually, considering there'd been the general implication earlier that demons couldn't directly interact with the living for a while. Does this mean they're getting more powerful?? LORD, WHY.]

—Odd in what way? Hollow?
detanimetion: (serious)

[personal profile] detanimetion 2016-04-27 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
[Break why is it you can only see now when it is least useful to everybody!!]

Do you know which demon killed you by the way? Sloth's door showed up when Sans arrived, and I'm pretty sure Papyrus's door belongs to Satan since...lava and all. So they might be appearing depending on who was the one to kill the victim that night.
crazily: (prepare for the ninja doctor attack)

[personal profile] crazily 2016-04-27 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Mmm, not hollow, exactly. It was just made of something I couldn't quite identify.

[ Though if they ask Rhys, since this isn't actually relevant, it's glass... Everything was made of silver and glass, which is why Break couldn't figure out what it was. ]

But yes, I do. It was Lucifer. [ Break chuckles softly, then shrugs, but there's definitely amusement slipping into his tone by now. Since it's not minutes after he died this time around, he's more willing to talk, since I'm going to assume he hasn't yet. ]

She's able to move around quite quickly, simply appearing in one place and then another. The same goes for her swords, which were rapiers, so far as I could tell. Obviously, I didn't come out victorious, but I at least made her retreat after taking her arm. I wouldn't ask Rhys about any of that, though.

[ Since there are parts of that he wouldn't know. Break pauses and seems to consider that, and his voice gets a bit softer. It doesn't show up often, but Break is being considerate, but also mentioning that reminds him of what he feels like was his own failure. Even so, he still wears a smile that doesn't show that sentiment. ]

I can go on if you'd like to know a bit more, but admittedly there's not much more than that.

[He'll file that away to ask Rhys about later and then probably forget in the face of all the tomfoolery that's about to happen...

So instead, he just listens to the recount, nodding along. Undyne just kind of jumped ahead in the "being killed by demons" train, didn't she. WHAT A TRENDSETTER.]

...I think that's enough for now, in that case. [...] Do you know if she was able to regenerate that wound?
detanimetion: (disgusted)

[personal profile] detanimetion 2016-04-27 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. Her. [Somehow Undyne manages to compact an eternity of grudgewank into one single syllable. Still, she raises her eyebrows, looking impressed.]

She didn't have her barrier up? Or is it that she doesn't have one? Anyway, if you could take her arm off on your own, then she shouldn't be that much of a problem if we send more than one person after her. [Normally Undyne would be more reluctant to engage in something that unfair, but considering how her last encounter with Lucifer ended, fuck that noise.]

Or we can just chuck a grenade at her. See how well she can dodge that.
crazily: (this is poetic)

[personal profile] crazily 2016-04-27 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know. After she retreated, I couldn't really fight any further regardless. [ Which he realizes Gilbert will understand with no problem, but since it actualyl feels relevant here, he elaborates for Undyne: ] I'm fairly certain I was going to die this week regardless. She accelerated the process somewhat, but not by much.

[ But that's not the important part here, and he's really only elaborating solely because it could be a bit confusing otherwise for the sake of talking about her capabilities. Break waves a hand dismissively as if to signify that this isn't the part he wants to focus on. ]

I don't think she had a barrier, but I wouldn't take that as a certainty. Dumpy actually came with us, and he managed to shoot her. It didn't take full effect as it did with Bill, but it was enough to slow her so that I could catch her. So your problem is combating that trick of hers for moving about quickly. Without something like whatever Dumpy shoots, an explosive would be useless. Fighting her hand to hand would be more effective.

[personal profile] stupidly 2016-04-27 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
So - if they take care of Dumpy, it should be fine, then... Right? Unless we can find something else that might slow her down. Though I guess she'd be even more on her guard if she saw Dumpy coming at her a second time.

[Poor, sweet Dumpy... Sacrificed its trump card so Break could get a hit in and lop off her arm. Why does Break hate arms so much? The eternal mystery.]
