(no subject)

You awaken to blackness. Frightening, although familiar--this is the same terrible thing you narrowly avoided during your first trip into Lebensbaum. The pain of your death is still real, echoes of the wounds you suffered appearing on your skin. Inspecting your surroundings will tell you that you've woken up inside of the cooled, empty bonfire pit....and the town as it was is nowhere to be seen.

The sky is a whirlwind of blank, dark void. What previously acted as roadblocks on either side of the town seems to have moved upward, blocking out most of the sun's light. The street is barren, filled with piles of broken concrete, shattered glass, and smoking craters where many of the buildings used to be. Old bloodstains dot the pavement, mixing in with overturned cars and crumbling brick walls. Lebensbaum is a dead town, in more ways than one.

Except for the hotel. It stands, as dusty and abandoned as it ever was, but no worse for the wear. Scorch marks can be seen on the ground around it in a clear border, as though it had a barrier protecting it from whatever destroyed the village. If you venture inside, everything is in its place, as though the outside wasn't completely obliterated.

The living can be seen walking around, going about their daily lives, and if you concentrate, you can even see the buildings as they once were--in working order, clean, and in one piece.

As of Monday on Week 10, however, there is a door, seemingly pasted into the middle of the street. As the days tick by, the doors will increase in number, one for each victim.

Believing in her won't help when she's locked in the basement unable to do shit! [SORRY LITHUANIA she's just super mad that this great plan she's been hearing hints of over the past few weeks amounts to trust the person she trusts the least in this town]

Did she at least explain the spell or what she was doing at all? Maybe one of us can pull it off, we have people who know how to use magic here!

[ time to interject with a shitty fucking laugh ]

Pfft, no! Of course she didn't! I told her when Morrigan died that Morrigan could have helped her and she said the magic wasn't the same. That only she could do it. Thanks, Miata!

Of course that's how it is. You'd think she would have made her moles people who actually had experience in magic instead of a bunch of human kids!

What about Leviathan? You said you brokered a deal with her, yeah? Maybe we can try the same with one of the other demons. Not Satan or Lucifer, fuck those two, I want them dead as much as I do Katerina and I trust them even less.

If you ever wondered why I was angry about Morrigan's death, there you go. She could've helped. Miata said she couldn't have but that doesn't make any sense to me. Everyone votes for Morrigan and lets Buddy live? Then Lucy's trial happens and everyone still kills Lucy? Bullshit. Retirement's fake and so is death and this is still what happened. Morrigan's a powerful witch, she would have been an asset and instead everyone let her die.

[ but right, undyne has a point here. ]

Uh, probably? We gave Leviathan our like, energy so Leviathan could make Miata more powerful. I guess the same thing that's happening with the sacrifices and Katerina. Katerina also has a book, that's the thing protecting her... I think? Sort of like her leash for the demons? If you take the book away, she becomes powerless. Miata said if she gave up her overseering position, Katerina would make a mistake because she's like, in love with her or whatever, and somehow that would... be a chance to get the book back? I don't know.

[ a shrug. ]

Actually, I offered to become the Overseer so I could protect everyone this next week instead of leaving us defenseless with no one to run the game except Katerina. Miata shot me down and she never gave me a good reason why not. [ a dry laugh here ] I think it's just because she doesn't like me.

[She just lets the first point go because well...she'd voted for Morrigan because Morrigan confessed first and that was good enough for her. But she doesn't really have any strong enough feelings for Buddy to argue this, so she shrugs it off and moves on.]

Your...energy? So like what, you switched sins? We probably can't pull that off now, but maybe we can tell the people still alive that's an option. And seeing as how we haven't seen hide or hair of Katerina yet, I can't put any stock in what Miata claims will happen.

[She snorts.] You should have asked Lithuania to do it. Though Miata disliking you is a point in your favor, as far as I see it!

[ rhys just gives a nod and, yeah. that's basically it. ]

Maybe? It could be useful but I also don't know where Leviathan is and don't really... trust any of the ones left to do this right. Roxy, yeah. Hinata and Faize, maybe? Oh, Poland's a good choice too, she can think when she's not trying... not to... Anyway, the rest are just idiots so if we let anyone know what's up, it has to be one of those people.

[ haaaaaaah, rhys just grins at that. ]

See, there's the obvious thing again. Astrid pointed out Lithuania, Roxy, Inaba, and Alisha for working with Miata. If this was going to be a secret, again, it couldn't have been any of them. We could've made up a story about how I strongarmed her into it or something, I don't know. Instead she turned me down because...

[ he just shrugs. ]

If she doesn't like me, fine. But the fact that she wasn't willing to consider it because of her own personal opinion of me was really stupid and look how this last week went. Maybe if someone was still overseeing the game, none of it would have happened.

[ ohhh he is so bitter, he is constantly bitter at miata. ]

[It's not actually a super awesome plan, okay, whoever told you that is a liar.] It involves magic circles, like the one on the basement floor, the items we brought from home, and the dead bodies that we gathered. Apparently the magic required is something only she can Katerina can do here. [Gesturing to Rhys since he said as much to Morrigan.] I suppose we could break her out of the basement, though.

[look it was better than FIGHT SATAN and that's all that matters] Great! The hostages are there too, yeah? And we have grenades and enough energy to break down doors by now! Let's tear the fucking thing off!
herbgrace: (I'm doing fine)

[personal profile] herbgrace 2016-04-27 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
...As long as we're careful about it. We don't want the hostages or Miata hurt. Though, do you think all of those other doors being unlocked means that the door Miata ended up locked behind is unlocked, too? [What if they can just open the door?]
detanimetion: (considering)

[personal profile] detanimetion 2016-04-27 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
...or we could just. Go through the door. Since we're ghosts. [HOW DID THEY NOT THINK OF THIS EARLIER....]

But apparently Katerina's holding those hostages as leverage, so maybe not.

[personal profile] herbgrace 2016-04-27 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
...Ah, we could. [Good job, team.] I think we'd have to find it, first. [Since apparently the door is hidden according to Anna.]
