You awaken to blackness. Frightening, although familiar--this is the same terrible thing you narrowly avoided during your first trip into Lebensbaum. The pain of your death is still real, echoes of the wounds you suffered appearing on your skin. Inspecting your surroundings will tell you that you've woken up inside of the cooled, empty bonfire pit....and the town as it was is nowhere to be seen.
The sky is a whirlwind of blank, dark void. What previously acted as roadblocks on either side of the town seems to have moved upward, blocking out most of the sun's light. The street is barren, filled with piles of broken concrete, shattered glass, and smoking craters where many of the buildings used to be. Old bloodstains dot the pavement, mixing in with overturned cars and crumbling brick walls. Lebensbaum is a dead town, in more ways than one.
Except for the hotel. It stands, as dusty and abandoned as it ever was, but no worse for the wear. Scorch marks can be seen on the ground around it in a clear border, as though it had a barrier protecting it from whatever destroyed the village. If you venture inside, everything is in its place, as though the outside wasn't completely obliterated.
The living can be seen walking around, going about their daily lives, and if you concentrate, you can even see the buildings as they once were--in working order, clean, and in one piece.
As of Monday on Week 10, however, there is a door, seemingly pasted into the middle of the street. As the days tick by, the doors will increase in number, one for each victim.

Hey, this kind of reminds me of home! [ENTHUSIASM DOUBLED NOW!!!] You doing okay up there, Clover?
[She says as she continues forward because hell no are they stopping now.]

When they reach the exit, they'll emerge from the mouth of a cave. Below their feet is solid rock, surrounded on all sides by a violent, churning ocean. There's a short pathway to their right, though, and it leads to a larger platform made of marble. There's all sorts of lines and runes on its surface. ]
no subject
Does any of that look familiar to you, Clover?
no subject
Huh? Oh. [Oh, right, symbols and things, she's gonna quit staring out into the sea so she can get a look at the important stuff!!]
no subject
Just then, there's rumbling coming from the sea. Careful, ladies. ]

[Undyne has never been careful in her entire life and she's not about to start now. She'll commit as much of the star map to memory before summoning her spear and looking out to sea. Is it something she can fight please say yes.]
Hmm...you want me to drop you off back at the entrance, Clover? I shouldn't have any problems swimming if the tide's about to come in, but I don't want to put you in danger. [Even though they're ghosts and also the last time Undyne put Clover down it went horribly, but she'll make the offer anyway!!]
no subject
[But now stuff's happening and Clover rises a little, staring out towards the sea. Careful? Clover "sasses people holding weapons to her neck" "barges into the mastermind's office" "okay I'll set it to MAXIMUM VOLTAGE" "runs away on murder day all on her own" Field, careful? You think she's learned a lesson ever in her life???] Oh, no way! Don't worry about me, I can handle myself, promise!

Something begins peeking out of the water... ]

[Hmm, that shadow does look a little menacing! First things first though, Undyne's gonna whip out her spear and do her best to shatter the platform just to see if there's anything interesting underneath. And also out of hate tbh because fuck this town and fuck everything that has to do with it she will destroy it all.
Then she starts heading down the stairs, though whether it's to get away from the shadow or to get closer so she can FIGHT IT is anyone's guess.
(Spoilers, she wants to fight it.)]

What the hell...

What in the fresh hell is this thing? ]

[This is. Honestly the worst possible monster to send after Undyne? Seriously, it looks exactly like what she wants to look like one day. Instead of showing any sign of fear, Undyne immediately starts running towards it, waving her arm in the air. Sorry Clover.]
Hey there, big guy! What's your name? I'm Undyne! You mind telling us about this place, we're kind of new here!
[Look, she might be automatically wary of anything that looks like a human, but monsters are immediately a-okay in her book. Especially super badass fish ones.]

He's distracted for a moment by the star chart- unlike Clover and Undyne he is more than familiar with them and immediately starts trying to read it and figure out if it indicates their location, if there's anything familiar to him, yada yada nerd shit-]
These constellations are- what in all thirty galaxies--
[Was Vegeta there? He was standing there gaping at Undyne's new bestie but after that cut off exclamation there's a flash of light and then... no more Vegeta. Perhaps a gust of wind leading back out the other side of the tunnel, but certainly no Vegeta. Holy shit he doesn't want to be within seven leagues of that thing.
He's not screaming it's just the wind!!!]
no subject
Was that— [Okay, well, at least since that little surprise existed in the realm of "things Clover has accepted as possible and real and just kind of the usual shit around here," it's gotten her together enough to stop actively flipping her shit?? Also if she was screaming she wouldn't have heard him screaming, that's a major pro. But okay, Undyne is trying to communicate with the giant ocean worm and maybe this will be fine. Maybe it'll be okay, if anyone's going to be able to make sure they don't get eaten by the giant fish monster thing it's totally Undyne? Maybe it's friendly. Otherwise Undyne'll totally kill it to death. This is fine.
God, every single time Clover makes the mistake of thinking her life can't get ANY FUCKING WEIRDER]

except, it does not devour them whole like its original plan apparently was. Instead, it lowers its head down to their level, gets very, very close, and starts sniffing the two of them.
The up-close view will also reveal that this particular sea monster is blind, just empty sockets where its eyes should be. PLEASE HOLD, SCENT EXAMINATION IN PROGRESS. ]
no subject
Anyway, Undyne definitely smells like fish monster, so hopefully this will be the first step onto the path of friendship. (Who knows about Clover, but honestly Undyne's carried her around so often lately that she probably smells like glittery fish monster too.) She'll stand still for the sniffing, looking pleased as punch about this whole situation and even holding out her hand in front of its nose like that one scene from How To Train Your Dragon. She deals with blind dogs back home, she knows how this goes.]
Heeeey, cutie! Aren't you a fierce-looking one? [Is she cooing at the giant hellspawn from beneath the sea like it's a fluffy puppy she sure is.] Not much of a talker, are ya? It's okay if you're not, I'll talk enough for the both of us!
[Then she pauses.] Uh...did you hear someone screaming just now?
no subject
...What? Screaming? Oh. No one important. [bye vegeta]

...........
...................
There's a slightly suspicious huff at Clover, but apparently Undyne being fish monster kin is a pass in this thing's book. Because it lays its head down near their feet and thwaps its tail against the water in the distance.
It won't eat you. Sup. ]
no subject
Who's the most badass monster in the sea? You are! Yes you are! [PET PET PET] You got a name, cutie? Can you understand me? Because if you don't, I can give you one!
no subject
...You're amazing. [APPARENTLY JUST SUCCESSFULLY DIPLOMACY CHECKED THE SEA MONSTER] Do you think there's any way for it to come back with us? [maybe vegeta'll pee himself]
no subject
Rahab.
[ It doesn't really react to the petting, but does continue sniffing Undyne. Fish monster friend. ]
no subject
Rahab, huh? That's a pretty cool name! Like I said, I'm Undyne and this is Clover. Sorry for intruding on your hospitality without permission - if I'd known someone like you was living here, I'd have definitely asked for an invitation first. [Look, Undyne might be brash and rude at the best of times, but she takes guest rights very seriously. Especially fellow fish monster guest rights.
She grins up at Clover, giving her a thumbs-up.] That's a great idea! How about it, Rahab? You wanna come back with us? It probably gets kinda lonely around here if you're the only monster around, and I'm not gonna lie - we could really use someone like you around to help us out. Plus you seem super awesome, it'll be tons of fun hanging out!
[Just...gonna ignore the part where it's a giant skyscraper sized fish monster who might eat everyone??? Look, Rahab is clearly Good People, her judgment is great.]
no subject
I dunno where he...hhhhe? Would, uh, stay, though. [They're kind of lacking in oceans over in bullshit graveyard nega-murdertown.]
