You awaken to blackness. Frightening, although familiar--this is the same terrible thing you narrowly avoided during your first trip into Lebensbaum. The pain of your death is still real, echoes of the wounds you suffered appearing on your skin. Inspecting your surroundings will tell you that you've woken up inside of the cooled, empty bonfire pit....and the town as it was is nowhere to be seen.

The sky is a whirlwind of blank, dark void. What previously acted as roadblocks on either side of the town seems to have moved upward, blocking out most of the sun's light. The street is barren, filled with piles of broken concrete, shattered glass, and smoking craters where many of the buildings used to be. Old bloodstains dot the pavement, mixing in with overturned cars and crumbling brick walls. Lebensbaum is a dead town, in more ways than one.

Except for the hotel. It stands, as dusty and abandoned as it ever was, but no worse for the wear. Scorch marks can be seen on the ground around it in a clear border, as though it had a barrier protecting it from whatever destroyed the village. If you venture inside, everything is in its place, as though the outside wasn't completely obliterated.

The living can be seen walking around, going about their daily lives, and if you concentrate, you can even see the buildings as they once were--in working order, clean, and in one piece.

As of Monday on Week 10, however, there is a door, seemingly pasted into the middle of the street. As the days tick by, the doors will increase in number, one for each victim.

Yet even so, once Gilbert actually seems on board with this, Break gives him a look that's very openly judgmental. Foolishly, he assumes that Gilbert has just been influenced by Undyne being a menace, since of course he wouldn't be ground zero for being a menace. ]

Please don't sound so excited about going along with this.

[ It's at least not a "don't go along with it at all," but it's still not exactly thrilled. ]

Um... [WHAT A GOOD QUESTION she really hadn't thought this through beyond grab as many explosives as possible.] One of our rooms, maybe? On the first floor so we don't have to waste time grabbing them when we need them.

[And then she proceeds to dump a buttload of grenades into Break's arms.] Less whining, more carrying!

[JUST GIVING BREAK A LOOK, grenadegate is important, okay. But he'll pick up a few grenades himself, as well as two pistols and some ammo because SURE LET'S GIVE HIM EXACTLY WHAT HE CAN CAUSE LEGITIMATE DAMAGE WITH.]

Ah - how about Morrigan's room, in that case? I don't think she would mind.

[Glancing over at Break too since he's just part of this now. He's just not going to be able to escape.]

[ He sure is carrying some grenades now, he guesses?! Break makes a noise of surprise, but at least it's just because he's very clearly not wanting to participate, but now he has to. Break isn't actually sure what he's even holding right now, but it's easy enough to guess "weaponry" and know to be careful from that alone. ]

Do you have any kind of plan on what to do with these, are you just taking them for the sake of taking them?

Well first, I'm gonna try to blow those demon homes the fuck up! Starting with Satan's! [Not that she knows which one Satan's is or that this plan is doomed to failure but she's gonna try anyway.]

And a stash of explosives and weaponry can always come in handy! You heard what Katerina said this morning. If we take out the chapel, there won't be anywhere for them to vote on who's dying!

I'm not entirely sure if that's how it'll work, but...

[WHY IS THERE EVEN A "BUT" THERE. Anyway, Gilbert just sighs like this is all a lot of hassle, but it's mostly because he isn't sure where to start with the explosions. Demon homes sound good! Sure, they sound excellent.

The demons are one thing, and you can do whatever you'd like to them, but need I remind you that you need to be more careful with the town itself?

[ I mean, apparently he does. Break actually sounds surprisingly irritated by this plan, or at least the part about making the "living" parts of town explode. ]

It's not like I wasn't planning on checking if there was anyone alive around first! [SULKING. But fine god, she won't blow up the actual town. While Break's looking.]

Anyway, there's one place we haven't found yet, isn't there? That we might need to use the grenades on. [Looks like her thoughts are going along the same track as Gilbert's...]

[WHY IS BREAK PART OF THE NO-FUN CLUB!! BOO, BREAK. Time for them to have a secret explosions meeting when Break isn't looking.

But since it's clear they're on the same track, he just nods.]

We could leave the chapel alone for now, but Prussia said that she and the other hostages were all being held in a place with no windows. That's probably something that we'll need to break into.

And if there's a place you can't check? What then?

[ Break is asking the hard questions here, which is largely because someone has to be the wet blanket and president of the no-fun club. Break gives Gilbert a glance when he mentions the hostages, then sighs heavily before looking back to Undyne. ]

If you're going to break into a place, just do it gently. That's all I'm asking. I don't think this is a situation where you're going to want to deal with unforeseen consequences.

[HMM... It's almost like Break is trying to tell him something sneakily here!! How strange. Gilbert's brow furrows for a second, but he otherwise seems unfazed because I mean, he's a moron.]

Well - we'll take care. We've been practicing.

[Ah yes, Doorgate.]

Is that what all that door business was about? [Sorry, Lithuania just has to interject here, because that was weird.]

[Yup that was definitely the reason behind Doorgate. It definitely wasn't just the ghosts being bored and fucking with people for hilarity why would you even suspect that]

And it's called breaking in, not politely knocking and seeing if anyone's home! [What a good thing Break is talking to two geniuses here who can immediately detect his subtle messages!] Besides, if Satan's still there, I'm gonna need the grenades so I can shove them down her throat and detonate them from within.

[ Break looks between them, but then shakes his head. ]

Yes, that's absolutely why Rhys had his door hacked to pieces in the middle of the night, I'm sure.

[ See, he could believe this excuse if not for the fact that Rhys got bullied. That makes it clear enough that the ghosts were just fucking around... But sarcasm aside, he shifts the grenades in his arms before placing a hand on Gilbert's shoulder lightly as if he would be holding Gilbert back from something. ]

Do whatever you want to Satan. Or Lucifer, for that matter. I don't really care That part I'll even help with.

I'm not sure things will be quite that easy... [UNDYNE YOU SAW WHAT HAPPENED TO SLOTH.

That said, when Break puts a hand on his shoulder and gives him a look like "ya bout to fuck up son", it actually does give him pause. HMMM IT REALLY IS LIKE BREAK IS TRYING TO SAY SOMETHING...]

We had to figure out how much we could impact the living world! [And clearly destroying doors was a logical step in that gosh!!]

Nothing here's been easy. Doesn't mean we shouldn't try. If there's a way to kill those demons for good - especially those two - I'm gonna find it! Sloth might have instantly healed from everything we threw at him, but Satan sure as hell didn't!

[She gives that hand on Gilbert's shoulder a Look before saying in the most deadpan voice possible:] Remind me again how it is you never realized Gilbert had both arms in the two months we've been here?

[ Gilbert is at least moving in the right direction of whatever Break is hoping to convey, it seems like, because he removes his hand with a nod. Destroying demons is fine, but he seems to be a bit more opposed to randomly destroying buildings. He feels like this should be the normal, sensible course of operations, but he truly is dealing with Dumb and Dumberer here, and he's feeling it.

Especially with Undyne's extra comment.

He can't lash out at her because they're not close enough friends for Break to be casually violent, so instead Gilbert is the one to get a pretty sharp kick to the back of his knees. ]

Just don't blow anything up without asking me first. [ He's at least figured out from context clues that these explode, and that's not something he wants in their hands, if he's honest. But this is the compromise. ]

[Ah, the casual friendship beatdowns. How he... missed... them?? They've gotta make up for their gay sealness somehow, probably. (Is this really helping, though.)

Anyway after he's done straightening back up again, since he kind of folded a bit at the kick, he just shoots Break a stressed look.]

[which unbeknownst to any of them right now will wind up blowing up the town anyway HA HA....]

[ Undyne definitely gets a Look at that comment, but since she actually accepts, he doesn't say anything about it. He sighs, but shrugs in a way that's close enough to acceptance for them. ]

Yes, that's fine. I'll even be generous and let you pick which one to terrorize first~.

[ Well, probably. He's going to overrule the decision if it's too close to anything, but. ]

But since he hasn't gone traipsing around in the doors as much as Undyne, he'll just let her figure that one out too, looking over toward her for guidance.]

All seven doors have appeared, right? So they have to be behind one of them. I dunno whose is whose, but when Sans was killed by Sloth, he was teleported into Sloth's realm. Did the same thing happen to you, Break?

[ He nods ]

I assume so, but I couldn't tell you much about it, for obvious reasons. It was a large space, but that's roughly all I know. If you'd like to know more, then we'll have to ask Rhys.

[ Which seems like that's all he has to say, but after a moment's consideration, he adds: ] The floor was made of something unusual, though. It sounded a bit odd.

So that's how they've been killing everyone this week...?

[He's mildly alarmed by it, actually, considering there'd been the general implication earlier that demons couldn't directly interact with the living for a while. Does this mean they're getting more powerful?? LORD, WHY.]

Do you know which demon killed you by the way? Sloth's door showed up when Sans arrived, and I'm pretty sure Papyrus's door belongs to Satan since...lava and all. So they might be appearing depending on who was the one to kill the victim that night.
