You awaken to blackness. Frightening, although familiar--this is the same terrible thing you narrowly avoided during your first trip into Lebensbaum. The pain of your death is still real, echoes of the wounds you suffered appearing on your skin. Inspecting your surroundings will tell you that you've woken up inside of the cooled, empty bonfire pit....and the town as it was is nowhere to be seen.
The sky is a whirlwind of blank, dark void. What previously acted as roadblocks on either side of the town seems to have moved upward, blocking out most of the sun's light. The street is barren, filled with piles of broken concrete, shattered glass, and smoking craters where many of the buildings used to be. Old bloodstains dot the pavement, mixing in with overturned cars and crumbling brick walls. Lebensbaum is a dead town, in more ways than one.
Except for the hotel. It stands, as dusty and abandoned as it ever was, but no worse for the wear. Scorch marks can be seen on the ground around it in a clear border, as though it had a barrier protecting it from whatever destroyed the village. If you venture inside, everything is in its place, as though the outside wasn't completely obliterated.
The living can be seen walking around, going about their daily lives, and if you concentrate, you can even see the buildings as they once were--in working order, clean, and in one piece.
As of Monday on Week 10, however, there is a door, seemingly pasted into the middle of the street. As the days tick by, the doors will increase in number, one for each victim.

A lot.
This is the most emotion he's shown the entire time he's been here, even more than when he went up against Sans. ]
Hahahaha, wow, you've really got it backwards, lady.
[ For a just a split second, something seems very wrong and unnerving about him. Kind of a weenie? Yeah. Fun to toss around? Definitely.
Still a fucking demon? Of course. ]
If you think someone like Satan would tolerate being on a human's leash, I don't know what to tell you.
[ He shrugs, in an almost irritatingly serene manner. ]

look. your door showed up here. i'm guessing there's a game reason for it? that or you were invitin' us to share in your naptime, which is nice an' all, but i gotta admit i'm still a little bit bitter over the whole murdered thing. so it's a hard pass for me.

Satan's a weak coward who runs crying for help the second she's in any actual danger in a fight she started, so yeah, I think she probably would do anything to save her own sorry skin! [MASSIVELY GRUDGEWANKING THIS TO ETERNITY TBH]
And the fact that you're all going along with this sick game at all seems a lot like a leash to me!
no subject
Haven't you ever heard of ritual sacrifice?
no subject
What the fuck is that? A sacrifice for what, some girl's petty whims?
no subject
alphys showed you that anime with the brothers, right? one of them's in a suit of armor? uh... halfgrass alkhatrist, i think. anyway. you know how they had to do a whole human sacrifice thing with a bunch of specific rules to create their magic stone? that's basically the same idea. it's killing people in specific ways as an offering to get something in return.
[it's simplified but. he tried.]
that's why all the rules and timing of it and the whole-- one of each sin, right? you guys needed to fulfil some conditions.
no subject
...you watch anime? With Alphys? [UGH BETRAYAL BUT ALSO A NEW ANIME FAN SHE CAN TALK TO SHE HAS VERY CONFLICTING EMOTIONS ABOUT THIS
oh right priorities]
Bullshit! If that's the case, why are they breaking the rules and killing everyone left and right now? Plus there was me and Sisuca! What's the matter, Sloth? People not dying fast enough for you?
no subject
Nah...it's only the second phase of operations.
You and Sisuca weren't supposed to happen, yeah, but technically none of the rules got broken. You got done in, but by one of us, so you're slotted here in the same way as a culprit...you ever watch those executions? That's us.
[ .... ]
Is that it? I'm gonna go back to sleep, now...
no subject
you said you were getting energy out of this, but if it's a ritual sacrifice, it's gotta be bigger than that, right?
no subject
No, that's not it. And if you go back to sleep, then I'll set Papyrus's spaghetti on fire and feed it to you so you'll have to be awake the entire time you eat it. I think there's some in the back of the fridge from when I was still alive - it's gotta be what, three weeks old by now? More?
[SHE KNOWS YOUR WEAKNESS NOW SLOTH!!]
If it is just for energy, is there somewhere else you can get it that doesn't involve killing everyone here? [Like killing Katerina. She's down with that.]

That, I don't know. No one's ever managed to get all seven of us together like this, so it's probably something to do with that....?
[ so helpful ]
no subject
"probably". so this whole shtick is new for everyone involved. that's inspiring.
no subject
Do you think we can blow up the doors.
[UGH SHE'LL FUCKING DO IT ONCE SHE GETS RAHAB OUT -- oh shit speaking of which]
Which one of you is Rahab's 'companion'? The poor guy's all by himself! Treat him better! He's a monster, not a pet!
[priorities]
no subject
yeah, but i also don't think it'll help.
no subject
Pretty much. It's been...what, a couple hundred years? Since four of us were on Earth together. Back in the 1400s I think. But not any closer than that.
[ a shrug ]
no subject
god sans didn't study human history that's not too far from the time monsters were stuck in the underground in the first place?? right?? he's into science not history fuck him he gives up]
huh... so, what happened in the 1400s?
no subject
no subject
wow. so i guess if you guys repeat that now it'd just be plague-iarism?
[no sans now is not the time for this?? no matter how great a pun that is???]
though with all seven, it's more likely to be more like an apocalypse, huh.
no subject
no subject
huh. good to know. thanks for the tip.
[the dude might've murdered him but at least this time he's more helpful?? sort of???]
